A Spotify Code is the little sound-wave graphic that sits under the album art in the Spotify app. Point the Spotify app's camera at one and it opens that exact track, album, playlist, artist or podcast. Artists put them on merch, vinyl sleeves, gig posters and stickers so fans can jump straight to the music.

This generator builds the code from Spotify's own scannable service, so what you download is the real thing — not a lookalike. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account to make.

How to generate a Spotify Code

Spotify Code or QR code — which do you need?

They are genuinely different, and it is worth knowing which one your audience can actually use.

A Spotify Code — the one this page makes — only scans from inside the Spotify app: Search → the camera icon in the search bar → point. A normal phone camera will not open it. It looks unmistakably like Spotify, which is exactly why it works on album artwork and merch aimed at people who already use the app.

A QR code scans with any phone camera, no app required. That is the one you want on a poster, a business card or packaging, where most people will not have Spotify open. Our Spotify QR code generator makes those.

Rule of thumb: a Spotify Code for people already inside Spotify, a QR code for everyone else.

Spotify Code FAQ

Is it free?

Yes — unlimited codes, no account, no watermark. The images come from Spotify's own scannable service.

How do I download it as a PNG?

Choose PNG as the format and press Download. SVG is better for anything printed, and JPEG if you need a flat background.

How does someone scan it?

In the Spotify app: Search → the camera icon in the search bar → point at the code. A normal phone camera will not open a Spotify Code.

Can I change the colours?

Yes. Any background colour you like, with black or white bars. Keep the contrast strong or it will not scan.

Does it work for playlists and podcasts?

Yes — tracks, albums, playlists, artists, podcasts and individual episodes all work.

Will the code stop working?

No. It points at a permanent Spotify ID, so it keeps working as long as that track or playlist exists.
